Dear Families, Community Members, Staff, and Students,
I want to welcome you to Cochrane Collegiate Academy for the 2018-19 school year. I am honored to be a part of this school and community. I come to you with 22 years of educational experience and I am eager to get to work to meet the needs of our school and our students.
Our focus going forward is on academic achievement, it is to exceed our past years' accomplishments in all academic subjects. This can be done by incorporating more academic rigor in our instructional program. I believe all students can learn. When students learn in a safe and nurturing environment, they will strive to attain exceptionally high levels of academic achievement. This goal can be achieved only with your continued support. We value your input and look forward to a quality home-school working relationship in order to continue with our successes. We hope you are able to visit us often.
As we know, there are many issues that may present themselves to our children in everyday living. Our goal is to create a respectful and orderly learning environment while at school. Keeping the lines of communication open is essential to a child's success and keeping our focus on learning. We are the role models for the students and leading by example and supporting the students is essential. Everyone needs to be in a safe and secure environment. Parents and students are encouraged to support our "Code of Behavior," which can be found on-line on the Charlotte Mecklenburg School's Website. With everyone's support and compliance with the guidelines established, our students and teachers will be able to work in an environment that encourages learning and academic growth.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year at Cochrane Collegiate Academy. There will be updates posted regularly, and we encourage you to join us on Facebook to get updated daily. It takes a cohesive, well-tuned team to be successful. Let's make this the best year ever, by working together for our students!
