Dear Butler Families:
Welcome to the Butler High School webpage. First of all, my name is John LeGrand and I want to introduce myself as the next proud principal of Butler High School. I have admired Butler and its many academic, athletic and fine art achievements over the past several years and I am thrilled to now be a part of it! I have quickly realized that Butler High School is a family oriented place with students, staff and parents that take great pride in our school. This type of learning environment has led to Butler High School being ranked this past April as the #1 High School in CMS and the #5 High School in all of NC by U.S. News and World Report. I fully intend to build upon this very solid foundation and our successful history in order to continue to take our school to even greater heights.
One critical component of individual student and school-wide success is effective school to home communication. Within these webpages, you will find important information about our school. We will work diligently to make sure our page is updated regularly. Butler is a very busy place and our website is our attempt to make sure you stay informed.
At Butler, we are committed to preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century. We have very high expectations for all of our students. While focus on the core academics is top priority, building a well-rounded citizen ready for the challenges of life beyond high school is critical to student success. Students must have the critical-thinking, teamwork, and technological skills to be competitive in the ever evolving global economy. We must continue to work to prepare students for the rigors of college and the work force.
In order to achieve these goals, we realize that we need full support from our parental base and community. As a result, our collaborative efforts at Butler continue to grow. Our School Leadership Team meets several times per year to discuss ways to improve Butler High School High School. We are constantly soliciting feedback. If you have anything that you wish for the team to discuss, please email our secretary Dottie Flaherty at firstname.lastname@example.org with your issue or concern. Also, if you are interested in becoming a member of the School Leadership Team, please email Ms. Flaherty.
I look forward to working with you this school year. By working together, we can form a partnership centered on high academic achievement that will allow our students to achieve the ultimate goal of graduating “college and career ready”. Go Bulldogs!!
