At its Sept. 13 meeting, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education approved the appointment of Beth Anne Marshall as principal at Briarwood Elementary.
Marshall has been working as an Exceptional Children (EC) coordinator in the Beacon learning community since 2016. She was an assistant principal and EC administrator at Independence High from 2014 to 2016. She has also served as an executive director for Project Leadership & Investment for Transformation and as a district academic facilitator. Marshall has been an assistant principal at Allenbrook Elementary, a principal intern at Bain Elementary and a teacher at Cochrane Middle. She has also served in several different positions outside CMS. Marshall has been a principal at Jacksonville Elementary in Kannapolis City Schools, an EC coordinator and a teacher at Queen's Grant Community School in National Heritage Academies and a teacher at Freedom Middle in the Franklin Special School District.
Marshall earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from West Liberty State College. She has also earned a master's degree in special education from West Virginia University and in school administration from the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
