Greetings Cardinal Families,
As Principal of Legette Blythe IB World School, I would like to welcome you to another extraordinary year of excellence in and out of the classroom. It is indeed an honor to have the opportunity to serve the staff, students, and families of Blythe Elementary and the Huntersville community. It is also a privilege to lead a school with such an outstanding reputation for academic success. It will certainly be my goal not only to build upon the great things already happening at our school, but also to make Blythe a premier IB World School.
As the former principal of Long Creek Elementary and as an assistant principal at Pawtucket and Mountain Island Elementary schools, I have had the opportunity to truly appreciate the importance of working with a diverse student population. The students and families of Blythe truly represent the real world. We have over 20 different languages spoken at our school and through the IB philosophy, all students will experience engaging, inspiring, and challenging instruction.
At Blythe Elementary, the staff and I are committed to providing all of our IB Scholars opportunities to grow academically and socially as they are engaged in authentic and meaningful learning opportunities. However, this enormous task of educating our diverse student population cannot be done without the full support of our entire school community (staff, students, parents, and community partners). Blythe Elementary has numerous opportunities for parents, volunteers, and community partners to become actively involved with our IB scholars. To start, our wonderful PTA is a vital part of our school and they work collaboratively to support our staff and the many programs we have here at Blythe. Additionally, our North Star Reading Partners Program is another way you can support our school’s literacy efforts. For additional opportunities, I encourage you to contact the school to discuss the various ways you can invest in your child’s education here at Blythe.
I would like to thank you for choosing Blythe Elementary IB World School to meet the needs of your IB scholar. I appreciate you taking the time to learn more about the school. If you are new to our school community, I invite you to visit the school and learn more about the outstanding opportunities we have to offer our students and families. I look forward to partnering with students, families and the Huntersville community to continue the legacy of excellence that started approximately 20 years ago at Legette Blythe Elementary.
