Billingsville Leadership Academy Administration

Cheryl Turner

Interim Principal

Ms Turner picture.JPGI am so excited to be at Billingsville Leadership Academy. My name is Cheryl Turner and I bring thirty seven years of experience in education with me. All of my experience has been with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. I served as Principal of The Paideia Academy at Oakhurst and Principal of Berewick Elementary. I also worked as an Assistant Principal at Briarwood Elementary and Olde Providence Elementary. I was also an exceptional children's teacher at Lansdowne Elementary.

I was born in Winston-Salem, NC and I come from a family of educators. I began my educational journey at East Carolina University where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. I obtained a Master's Degree in Early Childhood and a certification in Administration from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

I've been married to my high school sweetheart for thirty five years and we have two wonderful children. I also have one grandchild who is now the light of my life. In addition to spending time with family, I enjoy traveling, entertaining and shopping.

My passion is monitoring instruction and coaching teachers. I want to make sure every child at Billingsville is given the tools they need to become productive citizens. I look forward to working with the students, staff and parents to accomplish this goal!

Amanda McPeters

Assistant Principal

Ms McPeters.pngHello students, parents, family, and friends.  My name is Amanda McPeters and I am the Assistant Principal at Billingsville Leadership Academy. I am thrilled to be a part of the Billingsville family!  I would like to take this opportunity to share with you about myself.  I was born and raised in Rutherford County, North Carolina. I moved to the Charlotte area in 2007 to pursue my Bachelor's degree in Special Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC).

I later went back to school (UNCC) and obtained my Masters of Arts in Special Education and Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders. I worked as a classroom exceptional children's teacher and leader at Metro School, Southwest Middle School and Mallard Creek High School. After taking on many leadership roles, I knew I wanted to make a greater impact and empower others. I then decided it was time to pursue a degree in school administration. I most recently completed my Post Graduate Certificate in School Administration at UNCC and I now proudly serve as the Assistant Principal at Billingsville Leadership Academy, where I hope to continue to make a positive impact in students' academic achievements and attainment to a lifelong love for learning.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching Clemson football, volunteering and playing softball. I am married and we have a beautiful 3 ½ year old daughter.

I believe that our school focus on rigor, relevance and relationships are the foundation for providing an exceptional educational experience for our students at Billingsville Leadership Academy. I look forward to serving the community, parents and students at Billingsville!
