Mrs. Ellis attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving her undergraduate degree in Child Development and Family Studies. She obtained her Master's degree from Pennsylvania State University in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Teacher Leadership. In 2010 she received her National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist. Mrs. Ellis has been teaching for 11 years. This is her fourth year at Berryhill.
When not at school, Mrs. Ellis enjoys spending time with her husband and their three daughters, Brinley, Isley and Emery. Other hobbies include running, camping, and reading.
Mr. Kennedy is a first grade teacher at Berryhill School. Though he is new to Berryhill, this is his eleventh year teaching. He has previously taught at River Oaks Academy and Tuckaseegee Elementary within CMS and before that he taught for Lincoln County Schools. He has a Bachelors of Science in Education from California University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Art in Education from Montreat College.
Mr. Kennedy is originally from the small town of Mars, Pennsylvania, located just outside of Pittsburgh, which makes him a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and proud member of the Steelers Nation. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family, watching sports, traveling, swimming and gardening around his home in Fort Mill. Additionally, he is the proud uncle of his nephew Zane who is 11 years old and his niece Mikalah Blair who is 7 years old.
He looks forward to a great year at Berryhill School working alongside the first grade team!
