Odyssey of the Mind

Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving program that engages students in their learning by allowing their knowledge and ideas to come to life in an exciting, productive environment. Participants build self-confidence, develop life skills, create new friendships, and are able to recognize and explore their true potential. Chess Club

Our Chess Club meets Tuesday during school hours (from 3:15 - 4:15) and on Friday mornings before school (from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM).  We are a national award winning team that welcomes all levels of players.  If you are interested in joining the chess club, please click here to contact Mr. Connors.  

Robotics Club

First Lego Robotics provides students with an opportunity to solve a problem based on a real-world scientific topic. Each team can have up to ten students with at least two adult coaches. Students work on a project and a robot challenge. There is a competition in March where the students present their project and solution to the problem, as well as, run their robot challenge program.  If you are interested in joining Robotics, please click here to contact Ms. Range.

Girls on the Run

Over a period of 10 weeks, girls in the 3rd through 5th grade participate in an after-school program like no other. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms. National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS)

The NEHS Chapter at Barringer is organized for scholars that excel in their studies and offers them a chance to give back to the community.  Students must maintain a 3.75 GPA and do charitable work for the community throughout the school year. Student Ambassadors

Fire and Life Safety Bowl Team

Our FLSB team were COUNTY and STATE Champions in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 where they brought over $10,000 in winnings to Barringer.  If you are interested in more information about the Fire and Life Safety Bowl, please click here to contact Ms. Hartmann.

Student Chorus
The chorus is open to any 4th and 5th grade students who show interest in singing.  We will practice on Tuesday mornings from 8:00 – 8:45 beginning in September.
