  Bailey Spirits Days 2015 



We would like to invite our future students and parents to the following events listed below.

 In addition, we have included a schedule of school visits to help make your child’s transition

 to middle school a positive and exciting experience.


Monday, January 26Parent Information Night at Bailey starting at 6:30 p.m. 

A panel of Bailey teachers and staff will present some important information and field questions about

Bailey to help prepare your child for a smooth transition to middle school.


Thursday, January 29 Basketball games (vs. Ranson) at Bailey from 5-7 p.m. 

Davidson & Huntersville families are invited to attend.  The Huntersville Vocal Group will perform at

 halftime of the first game (5:30 pm) and the Davidson Turning Tigers will perform between the boys

 and girls games (6:00 pm).  Our PTSA will provide school tours during the games and the school store

 will also be open.


Thursday, February 5 Basketball games (vs. James Martin) at Bailey from 5-7 p.m.        

 Cornelius and J.V. Washam families are invited to attend.  The Cornelius Elementary Choir and Recorder

Ensemble will perform at halftime of the first game (5:30 pm) and the J.V. Washam Jump Rope Team will

 perform between the boys and girls games (6:00 pm).  Our PTSA will provide school tours during the

 game and the school store will also be open.



We will be visiting fifth grade classrooms at each elementary feeder school listed as indicated below.

 Bailey Leadership Ambassadors will come with Bailey Staff to lead a question and answer session in each

 fifth grade classroom.


January 26 – Davidson Elementary                                                January 27 – Huntersville Elementary

January 28 – Cornelius Elementary                                                January 29 – J.V. Washam Elementary



Bailey Counselors will be visiting each elementary feeder school on the dates listed below to discuss class

 schedule options with fifth grade students.  Students will receive schedule request forms that will be due

 back to their homeroom teacher by Friday, February 20.


February 2–Davidson Elementary @1:45pm                        February 3 – Huntersville Elementary @ 8:45am

February 4–Cornelius Elementary @ 9:30am       February 5 – J.V. Washam Elementary@ 9:00am


Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that students and parents are well informed about the experience

 our future middle school students will encounter at Bailey Middle in the coming years.  I encourage

 you to attend the events listed above to gain a better understanding of our school and how we can

 work together to make your child’s middle school experience a success.

The Magnet Option (High School)
Students going to high school in 2015 will have an amazing opportunity to participate in North
Mecklenburg's Technical Institute. This is a MAGNET option. Students begin the program their
ninth grade year. This is not necessarily a "no college track program." The areas of interest are
Automotive Tech, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, and Horticulture. Mark December 5th, 2014 as the
start of the application process. Contact for more info. He is the 
NMTI Academy Coordinator. The program is already in effect.
